Indexing After import of data using the TCM Import Wizard
After importing an existing database into TCM you will need to index the companies and contacts.

TCM 4000
Log on to TCM as a user who has access to the TCM setup options screen. From the 'File' menu select 'Setup'. When the TCM 4000 setup screen appears click on the 'Administrative' tab and then 'Indexing'. Click the 'Rebuild' button. When the 'Rebuild indexes' screen appears click on the 'Tick all' button and then 'Start' to begin the rebuild of the TCM indexes.

TCM version 3
Log on to TCM as the administrator and from the 'Tools' menu select 'Rebuild index file'. When the TCM version 3 'indexing properties' screen appears tick all the index boxes that are available. Once you have done this click on the 'Rebuild' button to begin the rebuild of the TCM indexes.

After entering a new company or contact
After you have entered a new contact or company into TCM they will be indexed during idle time on your computer. For this reason you may find that if you search for someone immediately after adding them you don't get any matches when you search for them. The reason for this is because your computer hasn't had chance to add them to the index. To add the new contact or company to the index immediately double click on the 'Background processing' icon that you will find to the right of the TCM user name that you can see on the TCM status bar.

To uninstall TCM do the following:

Make sure that you have a recent back-up of your system before proceeding with the uninstall.

TCM4000
Close down the TCM CEFile if it is running. Run the TCM setup again and on the the 'Type of installation' screen select the 'Uninstall' option. Before proceding with the uninstall please read the instructions carefully.

Important information: When you uninstall TCM4000 all the data in the folders that you have set the TCM4000 paths too will be deleted and is unrecoverable. Please make sure that if you have pointed the TCM4000 paths to any folders that contain important documents, images, etc. such as My Documents that you change the TCM4000 paths back to their default settings before proceeding with the uninstall.

TCM version 3
1.
Remove the 'TCM CEFile' entry from your 'StartUp' folder.
