The Finger pointer does not point to the correct finger

Description:

The finger pointer does not match the fingers on the screen, and seems to point at nothing in particular. There are also large areas of white on the screen around the keyboard image.

Analysis:

This problem is caused by the system font size. In Windows 95, the system font size can be set by the user, and the program was designed around the default font size used in Windows 3.1, that being 8.25pt.

Solution:

You need to set the system font size back to the default size.

Windows 3.1 or 3.11
The system font size cannot be changed directly in Windows 3.x, but you should find an option when you change the screen resolution which allows you to choose between Small fonts and Large fonts. You should select Small fonts, and after the computer has restarted you should find that things have corrected themselves in the typing program.

Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0 and later
Right-click on the Windows desktop and select Properties from the pop-up menu which appears. Then click on Appearance to see the current screen settings. If you select Menu from the Item drop list, the font size will be displayed and you should set it to 8.25.

Alternatively, if you select Windows Standard from the drop list of default layouts, the fonts will be set back to their default values automatically.
