“Invalid Property Value”; error on Sign-On screen

Description:

This error message appears when you highlight a name in the user list on the Sign-On screen

Analysis:

This error occurs on some machines running Windows 95 which don't have the "MS Sans Serif" font installed. The program is trying to use this font to display the buttons on the Sign-On screen, but since the font is unavailable it is causing an error.

Solution:

There is a small utility which you can download to fix this problem. It will adjust the program to use the Arial font instead of the MS Sans Serif font. Follow the steps below.

Step 1: Download the Utility
Click here to download the utility program FIX_FONT.EXE (11k). When you are prompted, select "Save to disk" from the box which appears and save the file in the directory in which you installed the typing program.

Step 2: Run the Utility
• Open Windows Explorer (My Computer)
• Open the folder in which you installed the typing program
• Double-click on the FIX_FONT program
(This should be in the same folder as files such as FROG.EXE, PART3.EXE and REPORTS.EXE)
• The program will report the result of its changes.
