USERS FAILING TO GET ADEQUATE ROI ON BUSINESS SYSTEMS INVESTMENT

Many users are getting inadequate return for their investment in their business systems, claims software developers APT Projects.

A recent survey by the firm revealed that a significant proportion of some if the country's leading organisations tended to assume that the well-known "major players" in the business software automatically provided the best value for money.

"The phrase – no-one ever got fired for buying etc, etc – seems to have become a mindset," says APT Projects MD Tony Rust. "Actually, many smaller developers often offer much better value as well as greater functionality. One of the reasons for this is that such smaller firms tend to be more dynamic in their development cycle and often quicker to seize opportunities offered by new technology".

"This is particularly true in the area of Internet and document management and workflow functionality. The other major factor I price. For example our own TCM4000+Wokflow solution is significantly more highly specified and easier to install than many competitive systems. At under £25,000 for a 50-user system the product is excellent value and offers users a very rapid return on investment and provides excellent opportunities for dealers to add value".

"With the current difficult business environment, it is time users took a long hard look at their system selection and evaluation processes. Solutions should provide users with strong competitive edge at a competitive price. It is instructive to remember some years ago when Amstrad launched its first low-price PC – that users began to wonder why the hardware was now cheap while the software wasn't. Fairly quickly, software suppliers reduced their prices. It seems the lesson needs to be learned again".

TCM 4000 + Workflow combines contact, customer relationship and document management and workflow, with advanced email and electronic filing. It offers a host of interactive features that allow users to work more efficiently, and provides a platform for strong competitive edge.

Aimed not just at sales and marketing, the system is an effective solution for all areas of an organisation, including credit control, administration and general business operations. Key benefits include the introduction of an advanced computer-based business methodology, a central database for all users, efficient organisation and structure of information flow and easy search facilities.

Designed specifically for larger organisations that require more control over user access, TCM 4000 provides a range of extra features. While retaining the intuitive interfaces common to the current latest version of the system, TCM 4000 adds the ability to customise the record structure and to link to various accounting systems.

Major additions have been made to the Customer Service Management module making TCM a top performer against the best of available bespoke systems. TCM 4000 is a highly effective platform for adapting to a wide variety of vertical market needs as well as being the complete system for any organisation.

Developed by APT Projects, TCM 4000 is the result of an eight-year investment programme The system runs under Microsoft Windows 95/98, Millennium, NT Workstation and NT Server and XP. More information on TCM at: www.aptprojects.com tcm@aptprojects.com .
